despite relatively horrible weather while in normandy, rosh and i also made a pilgrimage to the mont st michel. it was somewhat like going to skagen. its far away from everything else, going there takes a lot of time, but once you're there, you're kinda overwhelmed by it.

there's a long story behind how we actually managed to get our asses to mont st michel, but im bored, so its another story for another day.

(btw ben! i saw rennes! for 1hr as we drove through rennes to mont st michel! i didnt see your parliament or metro though.)

the mont st michel sits on a rock out into the sea, so basically in high tide, its cut off from land save for one causeway. on on tide, you can park your car in the sand and take a hike across the beach to reach the abbey.

seriously, i wouldnt like to be caught in quicksand when the tide is coming.
