germany (pt 3a)- munich continued
i have to unceremoniously slot in my other part of munich which i forgot to blog about. less words, more pictures!

some sites as we took the free tour around munich also. but we zhao-ed halfway because it got too cold and boring.// im standing on unmarked graves which have been exhumed.// finally, a city that's smaller than i am. ya right.// shuz and me// viktualien market!

basically the marienplatz area (ie shopping district) only that munich shopping pales in comparison to berlin. we hadnt seen cologne shopping at the time of the photo. thats the church with a massive glockenspiel. not very exciting, although that golden statue of mary symbolised antiprotestantism during its time.

generous photos of food from the market! 2.20euros for chili padi. wah lau eh! $#%$@##!
and finally, the dinner of all dinners. we had it at weisse which was recommended by the lonely planet and bascially we went crazy. shuz was the only sane one who ate properly. sam had a pork cordon bleu, jess and jo shared another knuckle, i had a veal schnitzel, shuz had her sauerkraut and potato pancakes, nick had his knuckles for the 3rd time. and then we walloped 3 desserts: apple strudel, apple fritters and pancakes. it was so good. im hungry now.a note about the schnitzel: ever since i heard julie andrews sing "my favourite things" i've always wondered what in the world were schnitzels. and i finally had mine at munich. its basically breaded veal cutlet. nothing really fancy about it, though. but it was good. as with all other foods ive eaten by far.
"...girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes, door bells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles..."
