a jeg hedder terri!

yep, thats the first thing i learnt today at danish class. not surprisingly its a very international crowd. in my class, there are belgians, french, americans, austrians, germans, japs, italians, poles, australians and me from tiny lil singapore. we're kinda that far off that there isnt really a danish word for singaporean. the teacher said she'll get back to me. by far, most of the friends ive made are australian, there's like an extremely big contingent of them from all parts, perth, melb, sydney. but, I MET SINGAPOREANS TODAY-whoops- cuili and junjie from arts fac. honestly, nus shld have just rounded all of us from different facs going to KU together. sam has also contacted the smu people going to CBS (copenhagen business school) so i guess we'll be seeing them soon as well. we're both also going for the copenhagen singapore club gathering for national day, oh yes we patriotic singaporeans we are. these days, being away from home, listening to electrico's *we're not made in the USA* makes me smile alot. esp the part with the 'kawan kawan' guitar solo. hip city is one terrific album.

anyway back to my travails in europe. dinner tonight happens to be something very simple: salad with eggs, sausages and cherry tomatoes. hot hardboiled eggs, i like man. hot sausage=hot meat!! these days, im just eating sandwich and bun after sandwich and bun. pasta is really tiresome to make even though it makes for a very hot meal. maggi is the easiest of course but im not sucummbing to maggi yet. i need to learn, and learn i will. amy, from aust, is really the bestest because she has made a cake at her apartment AND she's making something like lime chicken tonight. and she's bought her beef, pork and chicken already. sheesh. i need to learn fast.

anyway, danish educational point of the day: one always says 'tak for mael' after a dinner to thank the chef for the food. we learnt that from daniel's sister. he cooked for us last night, some great salsa and homemade chili con carne and tortillas. so not saying 'tak for mael' however you spell it, is a great faux pas in a danish household. you shld say it lest you want to suffer the evil eye from your danish hosts.

apologies for the absence of pictures. ive taken many! i just took three at the laundromat downstairs, while i was waiting for my stuff to finish its wash. but no internet on my laptop yet, so i cant possibly upload them onto blogger.
