danish beginnings!

finally. my first blogpost from denmark, thanks to you wilson who replied bk and asked me to get with it and start blogging. still on my landlady's laptop which is danish, so all the exclamation marks and everything else are on different commands and controls. right! so my classmate sam flew in today and my mentor brought us and 2 other aussie students (of which one is also my mentor's, mentoree) around copenhagen. we walked and walked and walked and walked and walked. i wish i could cycle, but traffic here runs from the left hand side and my first day here i almost died thanks to a very fast going bike. so. i will see how.

also, up here (seeing that copenhagen is in the north of singapore) buses are very cheery yellow, have 2 exits instead of one and use the old bustamp system where you have to flash your face at the busdriver. but the routes are comprehensive and i can proudly say i can take the bus alone and get to the correct places. my navigation skills are as good here as they are in singapore. HAH! also, up here when one goes supermarket shopping or shopping for sundry, one shld better bring your own plastic bags. they stinge on giving you plastic bags to carry home (good for the earth, but woe betide those who have lotsa things and nothing to carry it with). if you want those bags you gotta purchase them! and its like 4kr for one, which equals to a dollar. but the quality of the bags are more superior to ntuc lah. i wish i could post more substantially but i need a bath BAD and to sleep and do qt. i will update more and add pics when i get internet on my own laptop.

lastly, hallibut and dild dressing on a rye sandwich is terrific! esp at crossianter (or sth like that) at stroget, the pedestrian shopping district. but at 40kr (=10 sing dollars) i need to think thrice.
